Beginners guide to skill sharing with Kesero.
Your easy peasy is someone else’s sleepless night.
Spending an hour or two of your time doing something you are good at - in exchange for some time - won’t just save you money, it can make a difference in other ways too:
Make real connections. Using your skills to help someone else gives you an opportunity to create meaningful local connections with people you may not have otherwise met. And we could all do with some new, friendly faces after the last year...
The joy factor. There is something truly fulfilling about helping others and feeling like your skills are making a difference. Try it. We will eat our kesero hats if you don’t agree.
Look after what’s important to you. Why miss out on something because it feels extravagant? Book that personal trainer or gardener or life coach. Your future self will thank you… and so will the person you booked!
There’s no need to commit. We’re not asking for a long term relationship (although you’ll probably want one). If you prefer, you can do odd jobs at a time and pace that suits you. Whatever works, Kesero gives you a simple way to join the skill sharing economy.
Here’s how:
Write a short bio to let the community know a little bit about you. There are 300 characters here so make the most of them and give people a sense of who you are.
Add some skills. You can add up to 10 skills and also add the same skill for different durations. Think about what you are known for and what you enjoy doing. There’s space for a short description too.
Select the days you are generally available, add a location city and make sure to set the skill as ‘available’.
Discover the skills on offer and request the help you need. Two hours of skilled time in your account to begin with, so you can make requests straight away.
Make plans and stay in touch using the message thread.
Rate and review your experience to help your fellow skill-sharers. Kesero uses a two-way rating and review process, so everyone has the opportunity to build a strong profile.
More enhancements headed your way
