News roundup from Kesero HQ

It's been a hugely exciting few weeks here at Kesero. We've been reaching more people, talking about the app and how to get involved. The response has been incredible and it's been great to be able to answer lots of questions.

Good Morning Scotland

It was an early start last Monday for BBC's Good Morning Scotland show. Presenter Laura Maxwell introduced Kesero to her listeners and Invited me to explain all.

It was a great opportunity to tell Laura and the BBC listeners about Kesero. She asked me what sort of skills and if it’s something people need to be qualified in. I told her that's really the beauty of it, because there are a lot of people that are good at a lot of things and passionate about doing a lot of things but perhaps wouldn't have the opportunities to do it. It’s also a great opportunity for graduates who are looking to evidence their skills.

Painting walls. Cleaning and spelling and grammar checks were some of the other skills the presenters came up with after the call. There is so much possibility.

The Sharing Economy on Clubhouse

On Tuesday we made our Clubhouse debut in the Sharing Economy Club. Kesero's brand advisor Elle Tucker hosted and we were joined by the founder of Tentshare Rebecca Heaps and co-founder of Loanhood Jen Charon. It was brilliant to chat with other founders who are creating platforms for peer-peer sharing, and even better that they were female founders like me.

With Tentshare, there’s nothing to stop you from enjoying the great outdoors. Through their platform you can hire all the camping equipment you need. You can also hire out your own equipment to make some extra cash.  LOANHOOD, lets you join the fashion rental revolution! Impress with your wardrobe while saving pennies and the planet. There is no downside!

I shared my founder story and we chatted about tech, building trust within platforms and of course, the massive benefits of sharing vs buying. I’ll definitely be back on Clubhouse to be part of this room every week. If you haven’t tried out Clubhouse I recommend it.

Glasgow Live

On Wednesday, I was invited to be interviewed for Glasgow Lives. Elaine Livingstone does a wonderful job of capturing and sharing real stories from people all over Glasgow. It was such an honor to be invited and a great excuse for a trip into town. I gave Elaine the lowdown over a lovely coffee in Merchant City and Glasgow Lives in lockdown: Emma, 41, Clarkston, founder of Kesero was out the following evening.

The Herald

Next up was an interview with Kristy Dorsey, Business correspondent at The Herald. Kristy wrote a brilliant article in Monday’s Herald.

Kristy wrote a brilliant article in Monday’s Herald, detailing the journey to create the app and how it can help communities as well as small businesses. With an eye-catching headline : 'Airbnb for skills' app boosts workers and small businesses, and a brilliantly written article taking up most of the page, picking up Monday's paper was a real highlight.

The Scottish Shedder

The Scottish Men’s Shed Association included an article about Kesero in their latest issue of The Scottish Shedder out this week.

I’m a huge fan of Men’s Shed and how they are working to combat loneliness and isolation, which can affect men at any stage of life. At Kesero we share many of the same values and aspiration for a future where everyone feels a sense of purpose

The Scottish Shedder is packed full of brilliant articles. You can find Kesero on page 8 of June’s issue.
